How does this work?
With STDcheck.com, taking STD tests is simple and convenient. You can start by selecting a testing center nearest to your location using your zip code. Once you complete your order, you will receive an email with “Lab Requisition Form” with your test code. The test code tells the lab technician which samples to collect. Once you take the “Lab Requisition Form” to the testing center, our lab technician will take the suitable sample, which only takes 5 minutes or less. Then, you test results will be mailed to you within 1-2 days.

Should I take an appointment for the test?
You don’t have to take any appointment for the test. But, the payment should be done online or on the phone, as our testing centers do not accept any payment. After the payment is done, you can visit any of our 4,000 conveniently located testing centers to take the test. The testing centers will be open during regular working hours, with some of them open even during the Saturdays.

Will anyone know what I am being tested for?
No. Our testing centers test for many diseases, apart from STDs. Moreover, there is no waiting required at the testing center. You walk in, you provide your blood or urine sample, and you are out usually within 5 minutes. The entire system is designed to keep all the information private.

How private is the whole thing?
Complete privacy and confidentiality of your testing is our highest priority. We go the extra mile to ensure that your testing results remain confidential. We do not put your test results in your permanent medical history, or send them to your insurance company. In fact, we follow the same privacy codes that physicians follow. We completely abide by the terms of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

How does the doctor consultation work?
If any of your test results turn out positive, then we give you a one-time free consultation with our doctor over the phone. You can schedule the consultation at a time suitable to you. Our doctor will help you understand the test results, answer your queries, and clean your doubts. Further, at their sole discretion, they may discuss treatment options with you, prescribe treatments, or even refer you to a specialist for your disease.

Should I prepare myself in any way for the STD tests?
That depends on the test you are taking. If you are being tested for diseases such as HIV, syphilis, hepatitis A, B & C, oral herpes or genital herpes, which make use of a blood sample, then no preparation is required on your part. On the other hand, if you are being tested for chlamydia or gonorrhea, which require urine samples, then you should abstain from urinating for at least an hour before arriving at the testing center. No other preparation is required.

How soon can I take the test after ordering?
You can take the test as soon as you have ordered the test, and you have received your “Lab Requisition Form” along with the confidential test code. This means that you can take the test on the same day as you order. Our testing centers are open during the normal working hours, with some of them even open during the Saturdays.

How long does it take to get tested at the lab?
In all probability, your lab experience will last for not more than 5 minutes. You won’t be waiting there. As soon as you visit our testing center, our lab technician will collect a sample from you, and you will be out of the center within 5 minutes.

What should I bring to the lab for my test?
You only need to bring the lab requisition form or confidential test code that you received in your email after you place your order. Other than these, you don’t have to bring anything. A sample of blood or urine will be taken at the testing center, and that is all we need for testing you.
